How well does your a/c recirculate perform?
99 LS400
I have noticed that it works but it seems to be allowing some outside air in. Traffic in PR is absolutely horrible air quality. Their are tons of clunkers or trucks spewing out terrific fumes. Unlike my new Accord, the Lexus does not keep all of it from entering the cabin. It's not bad but it would be nice for it to work more efficiently. Have you guys noticed fumes getting through when the car is inundated or if your driving by a large group cutting grass lets say. Again, it's not much but enough that I do not like it. What I am trying to figure out is if it is just the performance of the older systems or my vehicle could use some love at the recirculatory door.

I cleaned my cabin filter and I am waiting for my new one in the mail. I actually don't leave the auto on at all. I set it to recirculate all the time. If the fumes are not bad outside I don't notice anything but when you get behind someone spewing some still makes it in. Sounds like it is just the design of a 13 year old car. My Accord is amazing when it comes to preventing anything from the outside getting in the A/C system. Probably modern technology at work.
Cabin Filter:
Local dealer - $83.00
Amazon - $19.99
