Have you tried pulling the fuse for it? Does your car have a Trac-Off switch? I've driven in ice and snow not all that far north of Phoenix and would think traction control would be a useful feature to have.

yea just turn it off, or just remove the whole trac system.

3 ECU-IG 15 Power steering control system, Shift lock system, Power seat control system, Anti-lock brake system, Traction control system, Telephone, Charging System

This is the fuse for traction control in a 96 and everything with it.

I have an "ECT Power" switch, but there's no change in the power or anything.

Edit: Found the ECT switch is for the transmission.. My goof.

I assume his intentions are to disable and remove the system in an effort to clean the engine bay up and not have unwanted equipment hanging around.

I can't say I'm familiar with the system or how it's tied into the ABS, as mine doesn't have it

Since you said that, this makes tons o' sense. I know I wouldn't mind a cleaner bay. Any more info on this? I'm sure others here would love this info.

only real difference would be the throttle body, the ABS gear and everything else would remain.
