Easiest way to drill out rotor set screws?
Went to change my front brakes today, 96LS with 104,000 on it and the set screws are already stripped from the last time brakes were done.
I'm sure this is a common problem and figured one of you would know the easiest way to drill them out and with what size bit.
Thanks for your help.

get a drill bit that is about half as big as the screw itself, and just drill it out.... that sucker will come right out...
I’ve done it soo many times before.
if your confident enough to do this job and competent enough to use a drill would wont damage a thing... its a pretty easy job

After you get it removed invest in an Impact Driver. This is a tool that looks like a fat screwdriver but you hit the end with hammer. What this does is slowly back out any stuck screw without stripping the head until it breaks free. I NEVER attempt to remove those rotor set screws with a screwdriver unless I know it will back out. I always use the Impact Driver first if I'm in doubt. Never had a stripped screw yet. The saying "The right tool for the job" is so true.

Well the impact driver would be great, however when i took off the wheels they were already stripped
My solution once i get them off? Just not going to put them back on LOL. The wheel is going to hold the rotor in place anyway, so these really aren't needed imo.

Buy new screws and replace them .
the brakes are quite strong and will cause the rotor to float on the hub impacting the studs and making banging or clicking noises when changing directions.
