Why do you think your Lexus is one of the best cars made?
I have been driving a 1991 Lexus LS400 for 3 weeks and I just love it. It's amazing the attention to detail when it comes to the interior of this car. Everything is so well thought out. It feels like luxory. They put so much effort into making the "perfect" car. Everything from headroom, legroom, comfortable seating, climate control, big buttons and **** on the stereo, one button defrost for front and back, keyless entry remote on key, smooth, powerful ride, solid construction, lasts forever with proper maintenance.
A mechanic I talked to put it best, "this is in my opinion the best car ever made, Lexus made this car 16 years ago and the rest of the car companies are still trying to catch up."
Can you guys come up with reasons your Lexus is the one of the best ever made?

Is it that obvious?
I'll tell you what. It's hard to feel like a loser when you're driving a Lexus.
I think I got a pretty good deal.
153,000 miles. 4 brand new tires, timing belt changed at 140K, interior looks 5 years old, not 16, in fact, the back seats look like they've never been sat in, car runs perfectly, smooth with great power, classic pearl white, exterior in excellent shape, paint still has a gloss and everything works flawlessly.
Only drawback is I need a new power steering pump. So, $4,300 for car, $530 for pump installed, $90 for alignment, $50 for p/s fluid flush and $30 for oil change = $5,000.
I never knew too much about Lexus's. Never been in one before, never drove one. After getting a very used Lexus and experiencing it, I feel like I discovered a gem that most of the world doesn't know about. What a car.
P.S. When does this newbie excitement wear off??

Toyota had 1+ billion for Lexus and made the worlds most reliable car. And by the late nineties was the best selling Lux brand. Started out as a dark horse, and is now a lux superpower.
GM had 3 billion for Saturn. Has been a money pit ever since. Nobody wants crappy plastic cars that fall apart. I do give them a little credit for the Aura, it looks like a good car. (but isn't really a saturn, just a rebadged european opel)
Imagine if toyota had had 3 billion to make econocars back in the 80's. They would have had 200 hp,gotten 40mpg, super quiet and lasted 800k miles.
Oh btw, newbie excitement still hasn't rubbed off 8 months later. I still look back at my car after i park.

Nah - I have had mine since 96 and still love the car. I can drive a newer car but won't because my LS is just fine bro. Welcome

Toyota did a fine job in designing their cars. I don't think I've sat in any that were outright horrible. After driving enough, these are second nature to me. Many items are placed in similar locations as their other cars so going from one to another is easy. BUT there are issues with each car and the LS has some nit picks for me. Bottom line, no regrets and it is enjoyable to drive each day.

My brother was driving his 91 Saturn (over 180k on the clock) daily until a few months ago when his wife wrecked it. Bad accident but nobody was hurt.
180k isn't bad for a $12k car new. Even was on it's original clutch.
