fuel level sender probably getting too old, most older cars over 8 years will have that going on, mine rises at a decent rate still, not as fast as my 02 corolla but way faster than our 90 corolla

It is located in the instrument cluster. I would only use someone proficient in board level soldering for this or you can quickly & easily do more harm than good.
I would also change C212 which controls Dashboard Instruments Display.
10uf 16v EC cap. Its on the processor or smaller PCB board. Reference is C212

Dealer would have to put down his donut & coffee he just spilled & quit laughing first. His approach would cost you in the $2000.00 range.
You would be best served by searching the forum & finding someone like Jim Walker to send your boards to. I think that he is in the $200.00 range.
If you do find a local that can solder well, he should have no problem locating the caps required.

Search for the cap spec that you need. Should be under $1.00

Dunn,
You need to have several skills to get this handled.
First things first, the link above will show you how to get at the boards we are talking about before you can think about servicing them.
You can drive your vehicle without the board in place but you will have no dash at all so you would want this to be a short term situation.
I would only trust someone w excellent soldering skills or this could get real expensive!!
I would also change out C-212 as I mentioned earlier.

90-92 clusters have totally different boards and caps, you're referring to 93-94 clusters. Both clusters are removed from the vechicle the same way though.
I was able to fix my slow moving fuel gauge needle in my 91. If you send your board to me I can fix the problem for ya, email me if you're interested. I'm in the middle of getting a tutorial up on fixing this problem.....but I don't want to say too much since I've personally spent hundreds of dollars researching, testing, etc and countless hours of my time. Check for updates on my site to see if I ever get it done!
