SC400: Getting New Subwoofer Amp, Help with Connecting
Hi,
I have been experiencing subwoofer buzzing at 1/3 or greater volume in my 1995 SC400 Factory Pioneer Sound System. I bought replacement speaker, same buzzing. Connected to a good 6x9 Coaxial speaker, same buzzing. I even went to a stereo place that repairs speakers, and the subwoofer tested OK.The other speakers sound ok, so I think it might be the subwoofer Amplifier. I found a Kicker Amp for ATVs and Motorcycles, and it is 1 ohm one channel model PXA200.1, which the Pioneer subwoofer specifies, as well as costing under $50. I unplugged the connector and wish to splice in there. Everything else is
So, I need to find the wires that supply the input. The choices are:
1. Skinny Red/Black Striped and gray spots
2. Skinny Black wire
3. Skinny white wire (Showed 23mV with CD Changer playing)
4. Brown ( I think it is ground)
5. Skinny Brown/Black with gray spots
I have figured out these wires:
Gray (12V+ ACC)
Blue/White Striped (12V+ Constant)
Blue/Black Striped (Mute)
Red/White Striped ( Subwoofer Out +)
Black/White Striped ( Subwoofer Out -)
I could do the trial and error method, but prefer not to have to. Can anyone tell me which wires are the subwoofer input wires? The additional wires, do they need to be connecting?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
