Help me on 2/4 Ohms IB
I am sticking with Image Dynamic for IB subwoofer, ID10. I am not sure which one to get, the 2 ohms or 4 ohms? Will the 2 ohms get me more punch out of my sub since my amp will push 600 watts at 2 ohms and 400 watts at 4 ohms?
subwoofer specs:
4ohms

2ohms

I am powering the sub with an Alpine MRP-M650.

It doesn't matter. 400w or 600w - 400w will push either driver to their mechanical limits easily. You better set your SSF in the 30hz region.
Both ID subs have a Qts around .3 and a low Vas. Both T/S values are much lower than your standard IB sub.

I personally would not run that sub at 2 ohms. The driver is rated for 250w RMS. In an Infinite baffle setup it is quite easy to reach the excursion limits of the sub. Overpowering can very easily drive the sub past its limits and then you will be back to square one......only with a few less dollars in your pocket.
