Default Hey

Hey folks got a problem for you to solve... or try to. Recently when I turn on my stereo in my SC I hear a high pitched noise that gets higher pitched and a bit louder everytime I hit the gas. The more I hit the gas the higher pitched and louder it gets, but its ONLY when the stereo is on so I know that the noise is coming form the stereo... any idea whats wrong folks cause its bugging the hell out of me.

Default Hey

Can you be more specific? I just replaced the battery too, my mechanic told me that it might be my spark plug wires but not too sure hes on the ball on this one

I'm not 100% sure exactly what it is, but I believe it has something to do with the radio grounding. My stereo-specialist friends told me that is the case most of the time with cases like yours. A ground wire for your stereo could be loose or not grounded too well.

Chungstyle,

I'd like to ask a favor in the same area as your quote above... can you please be more specific when starting a thread with the title? "Hey" just doesn't cut it and doesn't give anyone an idea what your question is. You'll get a lot better responses and more people reading your post if you title it correctly.

Thanks

It certainly sounds like a grounding issue to me. Is this on your stock audio system? I have not heard of this happening on OEM systems.

What kind of system? Are the power wires anywhere NEAR the interconnects or speaker wires? By "near", I mean about within 3 feet.
