Xpel for headlights
Will our headlights eventually start to turn yellow and fade over time like many other headlights do? If so, would putting a clear bra over the lights help prevent that?
Just wondering if that would work, and if anyone here has done it.

+1 Clear bra on headlights is for protection against rock chips, not against fading. I was told once by a detailer to have headlights detailed when you have the car waxed to keep their factory shine/brightness, but I'm not so sure if that's a solution to avoid fading.

One thing to notice is the clear bra might get stained depending on maintenance and the brand. I find Ventureshield Ultra would get stained over time easily. On paper, Xpel Ultimate would have a better chance of less staining but I just started using Xpel on headlights on the 3IS and time will tell.

The yellowing that you see on your headlights is oxidation. The XPEL protection film will block oxygen from getting to the clear coat on the lens of your headlight, preventing the headlight from oxidizing, fading, or turning yellow.

I just make sure i keep them clean using general car wash like Meguiars gold wash and then i actually apply Meguiars headlight restoration once in a while which is like a polish for your headlights and they stay pretty clear and bright. I did this with my previous car.

The plastic in front of my 15-year-old BMW is still as clear as can be, and I never did anything but occasionally wash the car. I believe the solution to the problem is quality plastic. These aren't some crappy old Ford, like what is shown in that video.

Well, it's not glass, and I parked outside for all those years. I have a day job. I'm not so far South as CA, but still...
