Sluggish acceleration until up to temperature. Then it runs fine. Starts up just fine also. Help.

You shouldn't be accelerating that hard when the engine temperature is not at the optimum operating temperature.

I can't say that I've experienced that, but I let my car warm up for a min or slow then take it easy until I get to the freeway which takes about 10 min.

Until roughly mid-way between stone cold and normal running temp the car pulls timing and other things having to do with the cats and O2 sensors to help warm the car up as quickly as possible. So it will not pull as it normally would. You probably experience some pops or backfiring too during this period IF you really get on it.

Yes, I have heard a slight pop or two, not bad though. Is this normal? Or can something be done with it.

The popping will happen for the reasons I mentioned previously. Yes, normal; however, try to avoid "pushing" the car until warmed up.
