Default "Lights from The Retrofit Source" Osram Xenerac CBI 5000k

If you need new bulbs for your IS350 I can highly recommend The Retrofit Source. They have good prices on authentic Philips and Osram bulbs. With so many fakes out there it is good to know which companies sell legit bulbs. I bought a pair of the Osram Xenerac CBI. They are rated at 5000k and look very white maybe a hint of blue. I have never tired the Philips Ultinon bulbs but I would highly recommend the Osram.

Are these lights blinding for oncoming traffic? I can't remember if the IS has projector housing or just halogen housing

Unless I misunderstand, Mike285 had hid already. If he is just replacing hid with a higher colour temp hid, they shouldn't blind oncoming drivers. They should be the same brightness (well, a little dimmer actually) but "bluer".
If you have halogen and want to stick with halogen, they make higher colour temp halogen, but they apparently do not appear "blue" enough to fool someone into thinking they are hid. That doesn't mean you may not prefer the new colour. Higher colour temp halogen will also make the lamp a little dimmer, all things being equal (i.e. not boosting the voltage, or comparing a worn out light to a new one etc.)

Actually the CBI 5000k bulbs are rated at a higher lumen output than stock bulbs while outputting the pure-white color output rather than the yellow-white stock color. They're highly desirable bulbs to achieve the best of both worlds (color and light output). Philips recently released a line of bulbs called XTREME VISION to compete against the CBI.

In that case, I stand corrected.
