sadly, on my 06 IS350 (lux, accessory, ML, and navi) didn't take hte memory command.
i put it in rear with the mirror adjust switch to the left, let the mirrors drift down, adjusted the left mirror up and:
press memory, then 1
or
pressed memory and 1
but neither worked. the system only beeps and memorizes things in park

The memory function brings the mirrors, seats and steering wheel to your set position if they get out of whack.
But even if no memory setting is saved, the tilt down mirrors will tilt when the car is in reverse and the mirror switch is set to L or R, and when you put the car back in gear, P or N, the mirrors will go back to the position they were in prior to tilting -- NOT to the memory position.
AND--you cannot hit the memory buttons while the car is in gear; it has to be in P (and maybe N).

You can adjust to any tilt angle you want then set the memory button and they will tilt to that setting next time. I have my passenger's side tilt way down so I could see the rear wheel which help prevent curb rash when parallel park.
Here are how you do it:
-shift the car to Reverse and both mirrors will tilt down to factory's default position.
-while the car in Reverse, individually adjust each mirror to your liking.
-keep this as your personal setting by hit the Set button then the memory number (while the car is still in Reverse). You should hear an audible beep that confirm the settings have been saved.
-your car is now set for both forward and reverse mirrors position.

My TSX used to tilt the mirrors a lot lower than the IS which is what I want.

What!?
I've had my is350 for 2months now and didn't know about this. I have the luxury package, now I can't wait to try this out in the morning. Another cool feature I can brag about to my friend with a is250 base model.
Thanks!
