HID Ballast Purchasing Advice
Hello All.
I'm in the process of replacing my HID bulbs and I've decided to replace the ballast as well.
I need help in selecting a ballast.
I purchased a 5k D4S 35W Bulb from KBCarstuff.com/Xenondepot.
The very nice tech told me that they don't have the correct adapters for the ballasts they have to fit the bulbs I had purchased.(I decided to replace the ballasts AFTER I received the bulbs already, doh!). I found that a little odd, but I took his word for it.
So,
1. Where can I buy a ballast that can fit the bulbs that I've purchased.
2. What are the differences between the different ballasts. Is it just size or are there technical aspects to consider?
2007 IS350.
Thanks in advance!

thanks for the replies so far.
a little more info on my siutation.
my car was involved in a major fender bender whereby the entire driver side front fender/bumper needed to be replaced. this included the entire headlight assembly.
4 years later, my OEM HID bulb turns on initially, but will go out after a short period of driving. Usually about 15-20".
I think the ballast may be bad if the light turns on, but goes out after a while.
I suspect the repair shop may have used the original ballast that may have been damaged in the accident? I don't know, but I would rather take care of this problem once and for all if I'm going to replace the bulbs.
does that make more sense now?

Hi,
I'm not sure if there was some confusion when you called but we do not carry aftermarket or OE D4S ballasts.
Were you having the same issue before you installed our d4 bulbs? We have not had any issues with the XenonDepot D4S bulbs or the Philips D4S bulbs as the quality is quite similar.

Whew. I finally got around to installing those bulbs! It's been a crazy busy month for me at work and in life with the holidays, etc.
You all were right.. It was the bulbs that were the problem and not the ballasts.
Now that I've replaced the bulbs, I'm no longer having the light going off issue.
Upon removal of the problem bulb, it looked like the filament had been bent. I wonder if the repair shop tried to reuse my old bulb from the crash rather than buying a new bulb?
Thanks for all the help.
Does anyone know where to buy additional plugs that hold the engine cover in place?
I think I broke several of them. I had a lot of mismatches. LIkely due to the repair shop that
fixed my car after the big crash.

You can get them from Sewell or eBay
