Changing Car Battery.......NOT KEYFOB HELP!
so my appointment is set for tomorrow but i needed a battery ASAP as i was going to need a boost in the morning, thinking its a simple install.
Not exactly, the battery is held by this arm that i have removed. should slide right out right. NOOOOOOOO! it doesn't it has a clamp that is attached to the plastic housing that is on top of the battery as if its a brace, little plastic piece.
the problem with that is that this piece is holding the positive terminal which prohibits the plastic housing from sliding off of the battey.
Long story short how do i remove the positive terminal from that little plastic piece. it has a little metal tab that holds it to the plastic but its riveted on, maybe a little extra force.
any help, anyone done this before?

Battery Casing
I just forced the plastic casing off to the right, it's pretty flexible. Also, don't panic when your windows don't work, you have to reprogram them by pretending to roll each one down and back up from the drivers seat, then actually doing it from each window. Then do it from the drivers seat.

Just wanted to thank the late poster who didn't care how old the thread was
solution for me was the last post in a 6 page thread that had a !picture! of what the guy was describing. he had two useful facts to share...1. use a very long handled flat-head screwdriver and 2. stick it into the narrow slot where the latchlatch connects to the thing.
anyway, thanks a lot. saved me from going nuclear on my wife's car. the best solution was from the second post in this thread....take it to the dealer/fav mechanic.

weird, when I replaced my battery it slide right out. Only brace i had to remove was the top one holding down the entire battery. Too bad the new battery from Canadian tires would only fit if I didnt have the housing...its still held down tight tho.
