Default Trunk doesnt open with Remote, Button, or anything

Did I screw something up?

I can only open my trunk with my physical key?

Have you guys heard of this?

I swear, this question gets asked almost every other week.

It's weird how the button always gets accidentally pressed for so many people.

wow.. thanks guys!! I got my car 9 months ago, I love finding stuff out like this!

P.S. I love my car, I traded in my Hummer H3, im so glad I got rid of my hummer (I only had it for 7 months - couldnt afford the gas then), now I go back to hummerforums, I feel so bad for my friends trying to get rid of their hummers..

They say that it lost about 70% of their value... wow I got lucky!

My first Lexus! I love it!

Dang, you went from a Hummer to an IS? That's like night and day.

Personally, I think you made the right move. Gas money, yeah, but more importantly, you can actually park the IS without taking up 7 and a half spots.

The problem is that no one reads their car manual properly

The question asking if the trunk has a light (it turns out it’s also on a switch) is a close second.

It's cuz it's huge. PLUS the nav manual--I'll never end up reading all that (I have skimmed them, and checked for info, though).

BUT--I'm fairly sure my salesman showed this feature to me when I picked up my car. PLUS--do you know how many cars have a similar feature? I bet any car with a trunk and a valet key.

The light may be hard to find if set to off. Look in the upper part of the trunk area (not the lid) in the center near the third brake light. You’ll see a light fixture with a small rocker switch on the right. One position is on and the other off. If left on, it will turn off when the lid is closed. I’m too big to crawl in there and test it, but that’s what the manual says.

WTF???....you spend up to 40k & you don't want to learn about your car

The manual is small compared to some computer program manuals...but go ahead & continue the trial & error method, the dealerships/mechanics love it when guys screw up their vehicles

Easy--I know how to use every feature. Some day, I'll figure out all the ins and outs of the nav.
