Default Things you discovered later

Call me a dope, I've had my F for two years and just discovered the outside button that opens the trunk. I had the trunk lid open cleaning the camera, and noticed a square rubber area on the right. I pressed it and it went in. I closed the lid and pressed the button and the trunk opened. Duh. I'd always opened the trunk from the inside or on the fob, this is much easier.

LOL you guys. I've gone through these forums enough that I hope I know all of these little things by now.

It did take me a while though to figure out that a long press of the button keeps traction control disabled rather than just one time up to 20MPH or whatever speed it is.

One thing I just noticed is that over on the left side of the camera is a small keyhole that unlocks the trunk also. Just pull out your stubby key from the key fob and stick it in....

Since it's my weekender, I find new features almost every weekend.

Something cool I figured out by reading the forums was if you're in D and you hit the downshift paddle, the car downshifts directly to 6th gear. Also you can control climate using voice commands. Had to do this before I got my nav got fixed

When I got my 2011 IS250 last year, I was not aware of the back seats not folding down. This was discovered a month later.

When I got my 2008 ISF last week, I learned
- the navigation route voice had a separate setting.
- the phone book does not automatically sync with my Samsung note 3. Still trying to figure this out
- the trunk is a lot heavier than my IS250 (need to check why)
- the manual shows there are vents under the front seats to give air for back seat passengers (need to verify)
- with headers installed, cabin smells like exhaust fumes when I'm in idle
- Audio is a big upgrade with ML versus non-ML

And things I want to find out
- Are the 2008 head lights on the ISF same as the ones on ISx50 2006-2008?
- Is the roof shark fin bolt just above the rear dome light housing?
- How do I get the license plate lights out?

No, the IS-F's headlights are unique to the F.

Shark fin removal? Probably in the thread named "How to remove shark fin on roof".

License plate and all others are here.

For common things like interior lighting, don't be afraid to look in the 2IS section. LOTS of good help there for the usual mods.

Thank you!

I have done the interior LED swap in my IS250 before so I'm comfort with that. The F head lights I definitely didn't know, thanks for the info
