Use Non ML Navi MAP DVD Drive instead of CD Drive?
Hey Guys,
I searched on this forum and couldn't find the answer. I know the Navi Map DVD drive is for the Navi system, but is there any way you can modify it to read DVDs since IS250 AWD doesn't have ML option available. I am stuck with the CD drive on my NAVI since I don't have the ML system.
Can it also read burnt discs like custom screen savers and visualization videos?
I'm scared to pop out the Navi DVD and try. Anyone have experience with this?
Thanks.

In any event, the DVD drive in your nav unit is -only- for nav, sorry.

I'm not aware of anyone who has been able to modify the navigation system so that they could use the drive intended for the map DVD to play videos. Given that the drive is located behind the clock face, it wouldn't be terribly convenient even if you could.
