Default Newbie after some tech advise

Hi

I have been reading you BBS for a while and find you all a very nice bunch and wonder if you guys could help me out. Ive Owned a couple of toyotas and i am after a IS 300 now to play with. questions are:

Will a 2JZ GTE bottom end mate up to a GE head?
If not is it possible to swap the internals from the GTE to The GE block.

Or is it easier just to do a total transplant.

Many thanks

yes.....a new factory GTE bottom end will mate up to a GE head....and the internals are swappaple into the GE block as well...

I had the same dillema as a matter of fact......while I am going thru the process of a en engine build and turbo install....

here is a picture of my 2JZ-GTE bottom along with the stock GE head:

Wow very nice project!

I am gonna bore you rigid now if you don't mind,

We have a built 2JZ-GTE bottom end, what modifications will be needed on the engine mounts?

What is the compression ratio when mating a GTE short block to a GE head

What head gasket is prefered

and........... Is it worth it? or should we leave the GE short block and fit a 3mm GReddy head gasket. Ideally we want approx 500 rwhp, probably using a T61GT35, so is there any point? This will be a daily driver.

Lastly, we get a 5 speed autobox here, will it cope with mods?

TIA

very intrriguing questions which I honestly do not have the personal experiance or expertise....all my info is hearsay.... I will try to answer you're questions though... I do believe by using a NEW 1998 GTE block, it can utilize the engine mounts with NO modifications.....the compression ratio along with a stock GTE headgasket, would be 8:5:1 as far as I know...

I suggest E-mailing and contacting here: Jeff Stevens Jeff@turboeast.com
www.turboeast.com

he will be able to answer you're questions in great detail...good guy and good products for the IS300.....

good luck, and keep me posted on you're progress...
