Default GE for a GTE short block ?

Long story short it looks like I spun a rod bearing at the track this weekend. Anyway money is tight right now and I just want to get it running again for cheap. I still have my healthy ge engine from my swap. I think I should be able to just swap out the short block and be back on the road.

I think that I would only have to swap everything over from the GTE to the GE. I love some help because this way I can have it running so I can take my time and enjoy rebuilding the GTE short block.

Thanks

P.S. I only run about 350, 400 whp so the ge block should be fine for my power levels.

I'm just planning on doing this while I rebuild the GTE engine.

You'll have to swap oil pumps between the GTE and GE motors. The GTE oil pump has a bracket for the crank sensor; the GE oil pump does not.

Additionally, you probably have to replumb the oil feed for the turbo if you tapped the oil gallery used for the stock twins to oil the single.

And finally, you're compression ratio will be higher using a GE block; my guess is that it'll be a smidge above 9:1.
