recommended engine oil for tropical countries
Hi all, i live in the Philippines and it never gets cold here, just keeps getting hotter, i know the 2UR-GSE uses 5W-30, what other options do we have for tropical coutries?
my engine oil temps never really get hot,the most i saw was 4 bars (from the instrument cluster) from hard driving along the freeway....since i found out we dont have an oil to air oil cooler,i just got a little worried and want to make sure my oil temps wont get super hot...
Thanks

There's not much reason to go away from 5W-30. You ought to have a viscosity chart in the owners manual, which you can compare to the minimum/maximum temperatures that you will encounter and you will be surprised what a wide spectrum is covered by 5W-30.

I live in Arizona, and use Pennzoil Platinum or Platinum Plus - Weight 10W/30. It never gets really cold here, and I've found it has worked out well for me.

5W30 Mobil 1 NVF 100% synthetic here.
Imagine Philippines weather and add 5*c, and that's what it's like where I am at the top of Australia. Hot, humid, and we're at the start of our monsoon rain season right now........
For your 30*c and below, I wouldn't bother using anything else other than 5W30.

5w30 Mobil one synthetic is what I use in Texas. It doesn't get as hot or humid as the Phillippines, but we don't get mild summers here either. It can get pretty hot and humid in Houston in the summer.
