I believe the paint is normal. 3 coats of clear. They're holding up great, but I still can't bring myself to use Sonax on them. =)
Some minor mods since. LED throughout, and just ordered the DVD/NAV bypass, an updated bluetooth module, and sirius. Oh and I plasti-dipped my rear chrome. Having a blast this summer.

So since the calipers dont heat up i was wondering... I dont want to lose the OEM finish and Lexus logo. How about plasti-dipping the calipers to red or blue or yellow? That way its always reversible.
My car is Starfire white pearl. I did paint the centers of the front rotors with blue heat engine paint and its not bad, may consider doing the rears.

It's your choice to run whatever you want, but don't think for a second the brakes don't get hot.

The rotors are not aluminum, they are cast iron. The brakes definitely do get hot, it just depends on what you are doing with them. The Lexus painted on my front calipers that started out bright silver is now a golden color from thermal stress.

Maybe 'Lexus' on yours have changed colors because it had been reprinted and not oem paint?
Here's mine...

No, the calipers were not repainted. I bought the car brand new. They changed color after the first track weekend. They got hot as you can see from the white residue on the pads. The seals also died from heat. I guarantee you, the calipers will get very hot.

Wow... interesting. A single track day.
I haven't visited a track either yet. Today was the first day I hit my wheels with Sonax since paint. Surprisingly had quite a few encounters on the road as well (BMW Alpina, a turbo Eclipse and an XFR) - all victorious. All held up well, probably will remain a street demon for the time being. Eff yeah. =)
