The weight and rear suspension kill it for me. The cluster and lap timer are cool gadgets but impractical unless they have offline viewing and logging to analyze. If it had dropped down to 3400lbs, it sure would have been tempting.

maybe I will change my mind after driving but I still have a few more things to develop on this platform.

Another guy with a 911 drives his with snow tires as well.

You can do it in Arizona!

It's a big maybe for me. I love the ISF and its skunkworks design. The new RCF lets it all hang out, and I already have met more than enough of the local officers.

If the RCF demonstrates track prowess, 0-60 time commensurate with a 460-480 horsepower engine, and other major performance improvements, I'll buy one late year (with the carbon fiber roof).

The unknown horsepower is what will make the difference for me.

Price? I am expecting this ticks up to at least the $75-80K mark with add ons, so it now places the RCF next to may other cars of some interest to me.

We'll see when the officlal spec comes out.

Did a quick photoshop for you guys...
I feel like someone should offer a bumper like this, yet retain Lexus OEM looks.

Nice photoshop! I would take the first one absolutely. If the headlights were more ISF-esque, I would love it even better; the headlights with space in between and the Nike-swoosh LED light just don't do it for me.

I say screw the RC-F and save up the money and wait for the FT-1 concept to turn into an actual production vehicle. :P But realistically speaking I do not think the RC-F will do that well in sales. Lexus would have been better off completing the GS-F because there's an actual demand for it. In 2008 the IS F did not do so well, it could have been the economy or maybe the car itself was not that appealing to many. However, I'm kinda glad it went this way because I got my 08 for a very very good price. Let's hope the price for the RC-F isn't too high and won't be a disappointment.

Weight weight weight I can't believe this car is almost 4k lbs being a 2 door. I thought the ISF was a porker. I have all the boltons and nitrous to boot (i cheat cause i'm a toothdoc too) and adding weight is something i don't wanna do.
now the other list looks mighty fine, but once i saw that there might even be a hint at a Supra, i'll save my money and maybe shoot for that, otherwise you can't beat the lists that have already been provided. Porsche 997, GTR, yada yada

I agree with this. Knowing the IS-F weighs in at ~3700lbs and the RC-F beats that... is kinda disappointing.

Madastep, are you by chance a dentist with a white IS-F?

The RCF benchmark is supposed to be the ISF-CCSR ... basically taking everything known from the ISF and making it better.

Better interior, better handling (including a torque vectoring rear diff!), and more power! (~460). The engine is way more advanced w/ dual cycle for more power and better MPG ... It has a carbon roof and a power wing like the LFA. Whats not to like

+1, tired of waiting on Lexus so decided to move into the new M3 sedan. It has everything I want and a reasonable price as a bonus. Plus is strangely reminds me of my old IS-F body shape which I loved so much.

The RC-F is a fail on so many aspects don't get me started and it's not because I'm a BMW fanboi as I love both marques equally. I waited for the GS-F which never showed up, drove the M5 and nearly bought one but luckily I waited just long enough and ordering the new M3 was the easiest decision ever. It's a sleeper super-sedan perfect for my family commute duties.

I posted this in another thread but just look at those sexy lines!
