Default Test Drove an 08

Hey everyone, names Alex, have been lurking here for several months. I am from the Kansas City area and finding any ISF is fairly impossible. I am currently in the market for an ISF, looking to keep the price below 35,000. I have no preference on the year and I am very familiar with the model differences. I was wondering if anyone knows anyone selling an ISF anywhere close to where I live. I have been looking at cars.com and craigslist. I would appreciate any help. The 08 I found was located on cars.com. It had a little more wear and tear then I would like. However, i loved how the car drove and sounded. Just looking to join the family.

First, welcome! Second, take your time and make sure you find the one you want. A lot of owners have traveled out of state and drove the car back after purchasing it. It's a great way to get to know the car. Good luck!

Finding a right F at local is a pain in the ***. If you can travel, you will have a lot of choices . There is an F 2011 only 9k miles on it, but the owner is asking 40k. If you don't want to travel and just want to buy local, then you have to keep your eyes on cars.com, cargurus.com, autotrader.com, craiglist.com, carfax.com, carmax.com, ebay.com, etc... every day and every hour.
Finding an F is hard, but finding a right F even harder! Good luck and you won't disappoint when you got one .

All ISF's are in the west cost or east coast. There was nothing here in Memphis when I was looking either. Get ready to travel. I found mine in Baltimore.

hey hey hey! Fellow KC-ian here! We have a group of 3 so far of ISF owners. Model years from 08 to 10 and 11. I bought mine in Wisconsin and drove it back. You will need to look afar for the right car man. I dont know why people are so hesitant about this. You will also find better deals. PM me and maybe we can get a meetup going or help you with your search

Take your time, as It took me a year to find the right one. I highly recommend setting up alerts when new ones are added to Auto trader or Cargurus. I found mine through autotrader at a Chevy dealer who posted it the same day when i purchased it. If you can look for a certified one from Lexus then do so.

The ISF is AWESOME.

Check this one out.

35K is a solid budget. But like everyone said, finding the one for you may take time. It took me over a year to find the one I felt was right for me. I also purchased the same day a dealer posted my MY12 for sale. I flew out the next day and picked up to drive home.

It's an exciting time.

Everyone has hit the nail on the head already! Definitely will have to have patience and will have to act quickly when you find the one you want...If it's nice enough, clean enough and priced low enough for you, it's all the above for hundreds of other lurkers as well! Took me 1.5 years to find my low mileage, clean, stock, Starfire Pearl, '12+, with red seats. Found it, "negotiated" a lil (knew I was buying it regardless), threw a down payment on it, got a rental, and had a boring 12 hr drive to get the car, lol. Returned the rental there and had an EXCITING 11 hr drive back.... Lmao.....Yep, somehow shaved an hr off my trip back😊😊😅...Quite easy to do with the F!
Best if luck on the search! Oh yeah, if your budget is $35k, you should definitely get a '10 or '11 as they had pretty good updates over the earlier '08/09 F's, and you can probably get one with lower miles for that budget for those 2 years. A '12-'14 for $35k will probably have much much higher mileage, an accident, etc etc.

thanks for all the replies. I would be up for meeting the local ISF guys, just send me a PM if your interested in meeting somewhere. I currently have a sweet 1098 ducati tricolore that I'm sure you will appreciate. That one listed that is in Dallas makes me nervous since its been for sale for 180 days.

First off, welcome! The ISF community is full of great people. Second, I'm happy to hear that you are coming into this with a realistic budget. 35k will make your journey much easier. It always shocks me when people come here saying "I'm looking for a nice, low milage ISF and my budget is 20k." I'm like, did you not do any research on this car?

best of luck to finding the right F for you!

I am considering selling mine and I am sort of in your general area. I am in St. Louis...

2008 with 51,000 miles. Tastefully modified (in my opinion ). Feel free to PM me if you may be interested... still not sure if I am ready to sell it or not, but I'd be happy to chat with you either way if you would like.
