Picking up my IS F this weekend
Black/Black with NAV/ML and Park Assist. Can't wait!
Is there anything I should watch for when I pick it up?
The dealer wants to charge $700 to install the ipod adaptor. Sounds really high. What have others paid for it?

This is something you can DIY if you have the right tools and know how to access behind the NAV/ center dash display unit. Rominl and I did my Ipod interface in just about an hour. It's all plug and play. You just have to route the ipod wire into the glovebox or wherever you like. $700 is way too much imho.

I was right, I couldn't wait so I picked it up two days ago.
Wow, once it hits 4000 RPM - the sound is intoxicating. At first the transmission expected me to keep on accelerating, so it would lurch a lot. After it got adjusted to me going WOT to 60 MPH, it been great.
First guy to race me was a C230. At first I didn't think he could be serious, but keep at it for 3 stoplights. I dusted him by about 10 car lengths each time. Maybe he just wanted to see how fast an IS F is.
Checked about the ipod adaptor. Most of the service guys have been clueless. One guy argued with me for several minutes claiming that all IS's since 2006 have the ipod adaptor already installed. Jim Falk Lexus wanted $1000 for the ipod adaptor and claimed it was a four hour job with over one hour to just remove the center console.
How hard is it to install the ipod adaptor? Any drilling involved? Are there instructions available online or does it come with the kit?
I'm scheduled for clearbra at aerotech next week and tinting at Rich's in two weeks. I'll post up pics then.

He is talking about the Aux input jack. There is one already installed and you can use it for your ipod. But you can't control the ipod or see the songs, etc. You can do it manually on the ipod itself. That's good enough for me. With XM Radio and 6 MP3 CD's in the changer I've got plenty of music choices without having to mess with the ipod.
