Default vais ipod hookup

how hard is it to hook up the vais ipod connection?
where does the unit go? any problems?
any pics of how to, or is it something the dealer is willing to install?

very easy. no special skills needed so you can DIY you don't have to go to the dealer. i can't find the huge thread from earlier this year that shows all kinds of installation options and several ipod setups...but it was a good one since it gives you all the nuiances, tips and techniques, and other tidbits that won't be captured in this particular thread.....lol...oh, sorry my seach function just came back with a few hits while I was typing this, I found it right here: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=221337

have fun, enjoy; you made a wise choice.

hmmm... i have a question too... i don't mean to thread jack but it's a similar scenario...

we i bought my 07 350 the salesman told me i could just simply plug my ipod into the AUX plug which is right next to the 12v/120w plug barely visible in this picture.

i'm assuming now that's not the case? if i wanted to use an ipod i would have to do everything that this guy did in the link presented above by kensteele?

by the way... if the IPOD shows that kind of screen where as i would be able to touch the screen and play a song... that's pretty cool.... playing mp3's stink sometimes because it doesn't give this feature on the screen.

Batmobile,

The salesman is actually right. If all you want is to be able to play your ipod through the AUX plug, then all you'll need is a cable like the one on this link.

Now, if you want to be able to control your ipod through your nav screen and steering wheel controls, then YES you will have to go through what the guy did on the link Kensteele provided.
