Considering a 160k mile IS-F - Seeking opinions
I found a 1 owner 2010 IS-F and have made an offer for $20k. It has every option I believe.
Even at that price, I am having second thoughts.
My LS400 is falling apart now at 250k and I as much as I considered the LS430 as a used replacement, I really like the feel of driving the IS-F.
I would be using it as a daily driver and average 100 mi / month (yes month) for work and take weekend roadtrips that average 300-500mi.
Would appreciate any feedback from owners that have high mile IS-Fs regarding what they've gone through in repairs or unexpected costs.
Thanks!

I have an 08 with 146k only thing I've replaced outside of wearables is the starter which went at 135k. Amazing machines and incredibley reliable. I bought mine with 116k on it in 2014 for 23k I think you can do better on the price 18-19ish seems a little more reasonable.

It has been said, I would hope for the best but expect the worst at that mileage. What if the transmission goes out since it has the lifetime fluids thingy? How recently were the shocks replaced? Brakes rotors, pads, and tires can be costly if need to replace. Would the owner let you collect the engine and transmission fluids samples so they can be analyzed by a pro, like Blackstone Labs? While it could be a solid car for many years to come, thorough inspection / pre-purchase inspection is a must.
That said, I'd rather put the $20k down on a newer and much lower mileage on the next ISF but that's just me.
Best of luck to you.

Can you elaborate on this "lifetime fluids" ?
And yes, the mileage is what is concerning me. Will probably walk away, but the IS-F is definitely interesting me.

"Lifetime" ATF fill. Some have their doubts. I just had a cooling fan motor die an ugly death at 139k miles. They're $300+ each for just the part. At this kind of mileage, you should have $1000 on hand at any given time to fix something that has worn out.

I think it really depends on your ability to make repairs yourself. I would say it depends on the service records. If the records support that it has had everything done it wouldn't scare me.

I'll tell you what an ISF will become a rare collector item and will soon fall into the same category of supras/NSX/rx7s so happy I own one and will keep it Fo EVa! Good luck in your search. I agree with others you might be able to find one a bit less mileage for the same price. But it's super hard to find though.
