Does the IS350 F-Sport have bigger brakes than our ISF?
So I was looking at the Lexus website and it shows the IS350 F-Sport comes with HUGE 14.8" 6 Piston Brembo brakes now? These monsters are nearly 15"!
Is this information accurate or a typo? I know the ISF comes with 14.2 inch 6 Piston Brembos, never knew the baby V6 version of our car comes with brakes nearly the size of the GT-R brakes!?? In fact I was under the impression that the IS350 F-Sport comes with the same brakes as the regular IS350.

BRAKES
"Brembo® opposed six-piston calipers with 14.8-in ventilated discs (front).* Opposed two-piston calipers with 13.1-in ventilated discs (rear)."

This thread in the 3is section seems to squash that possibility. I'd go with what Jeff Lange is posting seeing as he's our parts specialist.

Lexus USA is notoriously bad for misinterpreting performance specs. Case in point: If you take a look at the published weight distribution of the Lexus RC200t on the attached PDF, you'll see that their published weight distribution has the RC200t being even more rear-biased than a Porsche Cayman!
Funnier still, some automotive publications had even blindly quoted that erroneous performance spec and stated that it helped contribute to its amazing handling.

IS200t, IS300 and IS350 all have the same brakes: 334mm (13.1") 4-piston.
Even the larger 2-piece type brakes that the RC and GS get are only 356mm (14") 4-piston type. The only Lexus models that get Brembos are the LS, RC F, GS F and IS F. The specs listed almost sound like the RC F/GS F brakes, which are 380mm (15") 6-piston brakes. These brakes won't clear smaller than 19" wheels I believe however.
The F-Sport Big Brake kits aren't even specifically sold for the 3IS, and they were manufactured by StopTech for Lexus, not by Brembo.
In short; Lexus.com, as usual, is listing the wrong brakes for the IS (shocker!). They've been doing so for over a decade now in one form or another.

I have 11 of 100 of the f sport convertible made in 2010 and yes it comes stock with those brakes, it’s only on this year though. I think the later years toned it down, probably was extremely expensive for Lexus
