Traded in My 2009 IS F
For a 2012 IS F! My '09 was Star Fire Pearl White as is my new one. I had wanted a Mercury Metalic with red interior but the one that the dealer found for me (at another dealership) would be full price plus the dealer was hesitant to give it up and also wanted a premium on top. The dealership I was visiting had a 2012 and was willing to deal. After test driving it I found that the suspension is much improved over the "09, the wheels are very nice and 0.5" wider too. There are many upgrades to the nav system and the seats have Alcantra inserts rather than all leather as in my "09. I also noticed that the exhaust has a more agressive sound to it and to make sure I wasn't hearing things I put it both cars side by side. Sure enough, the 2012 has a more agressive exhaust note. Anyway, the deal was too good and my wife was all for it so good bye
'09 you were a great ride. By the way, it has less than 26k and is in great shape with a black wrapped top, tinted windows, drop in AFE dry filter, and 245/275 Michelin Super Sports. The guys I dealt with also let me remove the Joe Z intake tube too. I already installed it on my 2012. Sorry, no pics yet and I forgot to take a few of my previous IS F too. Dang!
I was also told that they only get two ISFs a quarter so these machines are fairly rare.

Wow...seems like a lot of people REALLY love their IS Fs. I like mine a lot, but I wouldn't trade mine in for another one..even it has improvements. 2014 F is a long way to go, and with the sales numbers of the current IS Fs...there might not be one.
Where the heck do you live in CA where they only get 2 IS Fs a quarter?
BTW...fairly rare = low production numbers = less chance for a 2nd generation F anytime soon. If Lexus does like most car manufactures do...the next gen IS F probably won't be out till 2015/2016. It was two years after the IS250/350 was a released that the IS F came along...

Nice trade! I've often stated that for my lifestyle, another IS-F is likely my next car rather than some sort of 2-seater sports car, though I'm years away from getting something new. Sounds like you've put a really nice 09 on the market for someone to pick up too.
So... post pics!

But we do know that the F is in limited production and the U.S. only gets a portion of them. They are rationed out to the dealers. I would imagine that some dealers don't get any, while others may get more. I was up at Reliable in Springfield last winter. When I pulled up in my F, everybody was drooling over it. They said they hadn't had one to sell in over a year. Several salesmen had never seen one in person.
Congrats on your upgrade!

Congrats on the newer F! I know you'll enjoy it as much as the last. I'll admit, having test driven the 2012, the suspension was definitely much improved. I know there were some things added already, but do you have any planned mods for the future?
