Anyone turned in a '14-'16 to get a '17 model?

If I had not needed to move to a larger car, I absolutely would have moved from my 14 to a 17 at lease end. I like the refresh.
And FWIW, I have had the 6 speed in both my IS and my GS and my experience with it has been great. I test drove both and preferred the 6 speed. It doesn't shift quite as fast, but it doesn't hunt much and feels quicker to me, probably because it hits 60 in second gear, rather than third in the 8 speed.

I've driven the 2015 RWD and AWD (I own the AWD), XE, 340i, and Q50 RS. The best transmission of the bunch is the 8-speed in the 340i and XE. The XE seemed to have it tuned sportier, while the 340i felt smoother. The worst transmission is the 6-speed in the AWD IS. If I were buying a car now, I personally wouldn't go with the AWD IS because the transmission is very dated. In 2014, it was borderline acceptable but we're getting closer to 2018 model years now.
Personally, if I were buying/leasing a new car this year, it would be a toss up between the XE and S4. I haven't driven the new S4 yet so that's TBD.

But you're right about Lexus, it's about time they step up their game with engine power and newer transmissions... can't wait for 4th gen. :/

Motor Trend tested both an AWD IS350 and a RWD IS350 F Sport. They achieved 5.3 seconds 0-60 on the AWD model and 5.6 seconds on the RWD model. They attributed the difference to the AWD system doing a better job of putting the power to the ground, but I've researched this quite a bit and I think it's the 6 speed versus 8 speed that makes the difference. Look only to the GS. In '13 the RWD GS had the 6 speed but that was swapped out in '14 for the 8 speed. No other changes. The best time I can find for a '13 GS with the 6 speed is 5.4 seconds and the best I can find on a '14+ is 5.8 seconds.

Lease a Prius or CT200h for a couple years until the new Gen comes out with twin turbos. CT200h f sport is a great car and they have massive discounts and rebates right now. nearly a free car if you drive a lot (gas).
unless you really need a compact RWD sedan.

What kind of deals are you seeing? Like under 200 a month?

Has anybody taken Lexus up on their lease offers to current lessees? My 15' IS350F AWD lease is up in October and they've sent me multiple e-mails/letters promoting 3 months payment free if I get back into a Lexus.

Lexus has been using the payment waiver program for years - the last 3 months are waived if you lease or finance a car through LFS.
That being said, the next 3 years of the IS are going to be mundane - I would play with a different vehicle, the 3IS is underwhelming.

My dealership offered to pay the remaining 6 months of payments.
