Default How long did your factory wipers last? And what have You replaced them with?

After about one year on driving (about 25000 km) my factory blades began painting rainbows on the windshield. These original Denso-made wipers were really good, survived almost two full winter seasons. I replaced them with the highly regarded PIAA silicone blades - the Aero Vogue hybrid ones. Have been using them for about three months and can say their performance is the best I've experienced. Will see how long they will last.

The upper blade is PIAA, the lower is factory installed Denso one:

What about your wipers?

I've owned several Lexus vehicles and change my blades once a year with Lexus/Toyota genuine refills. This is the rubber blade only, you have to slide the old rubber out, take out the metal stiffeners and put them in the new blade, then slide it into place. They're about $20/pair and to me, worth the effort.

Driver side wiper from my IS is only 9 months old. It's the original, so it's not covered by the warranty. Anyway, the bottom half shudders all the time.

I've had mine for almost two years with no degradation in performance. Mine are not, thankfully, subject to harsh conditions like lots of dust or ice, just a lot of rain (Seattle).

The original have lasted more than a year for most of the Toyota's I've owned. After markets have been hit and miss, so now I just buy the Michelin from Costco and replace in the spring and the winter (April, November). The only thing I hate with the Michelin is the edge doesn't have as much pressure on the glass, specially on the passenger side, so it leave a streak there.

Default Just buy the refills - $7 per side

Works for me - with my last car - a Toyota - I kept the original blades for the life of the car and just changed the refills every year or two.... The IS 350 blade refills are easy to get (and FYI, may be cheaper at a Toyota dealer since they are also used on a number of Toyota-branded vehicles).

well i think the dealer fcked up my driver side wiper. when i drove the car off the lot the next day it rained. i alrdy heard it vibrating a little and leaving streaks when i used it. i noticed they used some detailer crap on my outside windshield because it was repelling water just like rainX. except it probably wasnt rainx and caused damage to the wiper blade.

its starting to slowly get better but still leaves a little water behind. at first i thought it was just dirt under the blade and i wiped it but meh whatever. ill keep it for another year or so and if it gets worse ill replace em.

I have the originals still after 2 years, I'll probably pickup Trico Force wiper blades when I need to replace them. I have them on other car and the Tricos work great.
