Not unless it is leaking or you are having overheating issues pointing towards the pump. You might change it if you are having other work done that requires you to have the engine torn down in that area.

I am just right where you are and I havent had any signs of wear on my water pump yet. They are pretty straightforward to fix though. I think its just a change it when its bad kinda deal

My 350 w/ 100k started showing a little leakage when they did the cam rattle recall. So, I had them replace it. However, oftentimes, it's one of those things that happens a little over time. So, keep an eye on it so you don't get stranded on the side of the road.

i have 37k miles water pump noise 2009 took it to the dealer change it free under power-train warranty
what a relief - noise coming from engine i though it was belt or pulley but it was water pump
surprise to see only 37k and water gone that was a surprise
recommend check for noise before power-train warranty expires

i have about 93k miles. no signs of leaks from the water pump but noticed my coolant was a little low. brought it in for the carbon buildup recall and the tech recommended that i replace the water pump since they had the motor apart. they only charged me 237 for parts and labor so it was a no-brainer to have them replace it.
