I must revive this thread, there is so much misinformation you people have been fed.
Is 350 with 50kmiles
I recently had the same problem, drive, brake, tranny drops to n and while still on the brake, the jerk from the transmission jerks vibrates the whole vehile, also when coming to a stop, tranny goes to N electronicly and if i add gas to say around 4k rpm, BOOM launch at 4k from first gear. Fauks, nasty saftey issue to be loud about while in that place.
Thats not normal, went to the dealer and without a doubt i was fed multiple bs lies, first one was the driveshaft might be loose, second they pumped oil to the transmission, but not the TORQUE converter, which contains around 5L of the 7L that go into the whole transmission unit. Finnally they tried to claim my battery was faulty and the transmission was receiving error messages.. as if they havnt been rude enough the mechanic even left the lights on while testing the battery. I ROFLD a little inside, anyways i turned those lights off and the test said it was a good battery. No ****z.
Seems as though they had run out of bs to attempt to feed me after that point.. anyways after calmly listening to their bs excuses (which was rather entertaining) they agreed to "fix" the mysterious problem.
I see many of you here have this problem and im posting this because its not NORMAL!
It pisses me off competely that some of you even post on these forums that this problem is "normal" , misinforming many people that read this.
I hope this helps out many people who still have their warranties or extended warranties.
I would fix it asap, esp since its going to bug you when trying to sell the car! As a matter fact, attempt to trade your vehile in at lexus and i bet they will say the transmission is faulty.

^^^ I also fail to see what your post contributes. No one had the intent to post misleading or incorrect information. What we post is what we believe to be the truth. If you know otherwise, please share instead of bashing everyone. What did you find to be the cause of the problem and how was it rectified and repaired?

Thank for the updates. How much was for your transmission rebuild?

I always apply the brakes firmly to a stop before changing in to any gears. No jerking around here. If you got time, here's a 12min vid for reference on how to better care for your A/T. (3rd gen IS was used for demo).
