NO need to remove headlight for low-beam HID install.. yea.. u can go thru the fender lining for the FOG HID.. but its a pain in the ... your better off takin the front bumper off, that way u easily mount ur ballast to a secure location.

No need to remove the bumper for install of both low beam and fogs. it does make things easier to work with for the fogs, but you can remove the front wheels and go via the fender wall. The ballasts are important to secure and mount so they do not bounce around and burn out. Anyone can PM me if they need assistance.

much easier to remove the front bumper than to try and go through the fender walls. plus you can mount the ballast securely. nothing that hasn't been said before. just keep an eye on all the screws because i lost a couple. anyone know where i can get some extra ones (the ones that secure the lip and bumper)

I wanted to re-vamp this thread as I have received two emails this past month on this topic and hoped to inspire more confidence in this avenue.
This is going back two years, but I remember we removed the front wheels (one side at a time), removed the plastic clips that hold the wheel well plastic in place, and pulled back. After that, it is not too bad. Removing the wheel is key. If you remove the front bumper like some, it is very very hard to re-install and usually needs two people. Once you peel back the black plastic from the bumper, you will see the plastic fog light housing. Simply unconnect the bulb harness and twist bulb out. Then install HID bulb and make sure it it tight. Some cheaper bulbs wiggle and can produce moisture in the housing. Once this is done, mount the ballast securely with zip ties, their is an area I remember on top of the fog housing to simple double up two zip ties and secure. Then run the wires up to engine compartment and you may want to also secure wire with zip ties to non hot surface and away from drive belt area.
