months or miles?
nearing 12 months but only have about 9,000 miles. should i get the 10k service done at 10k or 12 months (manual says 10k miles or 12 months).
will waiting for 10k mile (13.5 months or so) void warranty?

You are close enough to the 10k mark, so I would just get the service done at the 1 year mark. It just makes record keeping easier, imo. It really doesn't make any differrence, so if you want to wait until you actually hit 10k miles that is ok too. Your warranty is not void if you take it in earlier or later, as long as it is reasonable.

Yeah, either 10K or 13.5 months is perfectly acceptable, I think. Just do it when it's more convenient for you....
and really, nothing more than an oil change is necessary if your car has been running fine, so see if you really want to shell out the dough at the dealer for the full oil service.

Just wait till 10k miles, they cant void warranty if you show REASONABLE scheduled services. All you need for 10k service is an oil change and a tire rotation(if a IS250). Please dont let the dealer gouge you by calling it the 10K service. Tops you should pay is $50. Get the tires rotated for free at a tire store if you have a 250.
