Reviews on new K&N Typhoon-too loud?
I have heard that the new typhoon K&N is loud at WOT. How is this design different than others? I have one on order, but will not install if it is obnoxious.

Sound is very subjective for each person.
The K&N should be no louder than any of the other Cone-type intake systems currently available, e.g. LMS intake and Fujita intake.
If you are concerned about sound than the JOEZ pipe would be the most subtle change you can make to the intake system. It is barely noticeable under WOT.
Maybe you can ask around to some of the local members in your region and see if you can hear one of the cone-type intakes.

good to know! I have the JOEZ as well, but no drop in filter and haven't touched the stock box and the difference between that and my friend's K&N was huge. You can really hear the K&N under WOT whereas the JOEZ was understated and you had to listen for a difference. Glad to hear you can make the JOEZ louder with a few simple changes.
