i have mccolloch. and one side woudl turn on and off sometimtes but i know why. the connector from the Ballast to the car power supply the harness is Loose.. but what id id notice was it kinda messed up the connectors from being so loose. i'll take pictures but to describe it in words, there is visible damage to the power connector from the wires coming from the ballasts. I'm sure the Xenon depot kits aren't much different. just make sure the plugs in GOOD. and when you put the pins in the clips.. make sure they are on there GOOD

I was just saying that if there is not a constant 12V from the OEM headlight harness the relay in our harness will chatter thus turning the lights on/off.

Steve what kind of relays do you guys use, and is there 1 or 2 relays per harness?. Also I suspect the harness being the culprit in all of these cases, I would check all the grounding points and make sure they are touching bare metal because a bad ground can cause these kind of problems. The fact that the ballast do turn on most of the time seems to indicate they dont get enough power so if I would suggest splicing into the ground wire thats connecting to the ballast and connecting it to a very good ground point on the chassy. I still would like to know what kind of relays are used since I heard theres 2 of them on xenondepot harness's this might be the problem since they arent turned on in sequence but simultaniously and causing the amprage fall below start up value. I suggest turning the headlights on while driving or reving the engine up a little to get more power to the battery that should solve the problem unless it's the ground wires ofcourse. Stan

vicestan,

As per your questions:

1) The relays are water tight 12V relays.
2) There is 1 per harness. You get 2 harnesses with our kit - 1 per side.

i just got my xtreme 6500k from xenondepot installed by an audio place. I did noticed that when i turned the car on, only one of the headlight was on, i had to turn it off and on again then it was fine.
Based on the thread I wasn't sure to leave the light on Auto or off ?

Dont be lazy. Do not leave your lights on AUTO--if you have aftermarket HID kit.

I always turn mine on the old fashion way and they work fine.

I have a Mtec kit, i like them so far however the harness on one of them is loose and if i hit a bump it actually shuts off due to the connection breaking, im working on getting a new harness.

What's the reason for this?

I've had the MTEC 6000K HID kit for 3 weeks now under normal operation in AUTO. I have never experienced a problem. I do notice when I first turn it on, the HIDs are not as bright (bluish) and becomes brighter after a few seconds (less bluish).
