Loud fan/creaking/clicking fan under rear seat
Among all the abnormal sounds I am hearing in my RX (Struts/suspension and steering clicking), I am also getting an annoying sound that seems to be coming from the fan area under the rear seat. I sounds like something is hitting the blades and creating a clicking sound, like a wire or cord. In the past, I only heard this when facing downward on a steep hill but now I am also hearing it when I make turns. It is extremely annoying.
I tried to get a good look under there but it uses a torque screws for which I dont have the tool kit for. Also, it seems rather dangerous to be poking around. Just curious if anyone has the same problem, or if I just have sensitive ears.

Josh, just take it in and get a proper diagnosis. Then let us know what it was please.

I am going in for service tomorrow, but they are really going to think I am crazy. I have been out of warranty since last November, but all the issues I have brought to them while the car was still young, still haven't been fixed.

No, I don't play soccer!
I haven't heard of this issue before. And I don't blame you for not touching it. I leave everything involving batteries/electrical beyond changing a bulb to a professional. Hopefully it's something simple for you. Good luck at the dealer tomorrow and keep us posted.

It's so faint it's hard to hear but I agree there's something. Have you taken it in yet? You know the Hybrid system is still under warranty don't you?

I'm taking my 2010 450 in on Monday...I'm also experiencing a creaking noise, but is happening upon acceleration, braking and when switching from electric to gas motor.
The creaking sound is subtle, but when you own a quiet car, you hear every weird/ out of the ordinary sound. It sounds like it is coming either the front suspension, front wheel drive system or the brake calipers.
I'll let you know what happens...

Lead Lap
Sounds familiar, but...
...I was unable to find it in a quick search.
I think I remember someone having purchased a CPO RXh wherein the original owner had apparently schlepped golf equipment in the car - and golfballs and golf tees had found their way into the fan(s?).
Perhaps you could try sucking out the area with a shop vac and be lucky to dislodge an offending piece of litter or some other contaminant touching one of the fans.
A mirror on a handle and a flashlight (I have my best luck in the dark of night) might confirm/refute my suspicion.
Please report your findings.
