Yesterday with 90 plus degree weather I used for the first time the AC seat cooler. It called my attention how noisy the fan is. With the engine idling you could clearly hear the purring sound. Is this a common problem, or just mine?

 

It is noisy. I'd say it's "normal" for this RX...


But, again some ppl can tolerate this, others cannot.

 

I haven't noticed any abnormal sounds coming from the ventilation fan, and I seldom have the audio system on.

BTW, this unit does not have an integrated AC Peltier cooler; it is merely a recirculation fan.

 

Just yesterday my mother and I were trying to figure out where a low type of buzzing was coming from. It too was close to 90 the past few days here and we were using the ventilated seats for the first time. She finally pinned it down later when shutting down the car that it was indeed the ventilated seats. So yes, I agree with you, they do make a surprisingly noticeable background noise.

 

Another feather on my cap of RX disappointments....

Almost every week the RX surprises me with yet another small detail in which they fell short on the "Pursuit of Perfection".

It's like the RX is Lexus handicapped poor kid.
