Were you successful in purchasing the GX anywhere close to invoice? I too am looking at an 08, special order with the sport package. Dealer tried to educate me on the buying process and the average paid over invoice for a luxury car. He went on to explain that they average $3800 over invoice per car, that would be over their invoice, which includes an adverstising fee of 1.75%. I advised him that the advertising fee is his cost of doing business and is not warranted for a car that is not flying off the showroom floor. He is willing to go to $3000 over invoice, which I believe is still too high.

Just bought her tonight!
MSRP was $52,300 and by the formula above invoice was around $45,100.
I bought it for $47,000 which was $1900 above invoice and $5300 below MSRP. Probably could have done better 100 miles North at a larger dealership. But I do like to support local when I can.
