Default Where is the Automatic Wipers sensor?

Is it at the base of the mirror where it connects to the windshield, our is it all the way to the top near the headliner?

I ask because whenever I tap the thing that is all the way to the top, it causes the wipers to turn on for a cycle.

Thanks!

Its at the top by the headliner. That used to be a trick of mine when I wanted to have it clean the glass once, I would just tap that thing and it would make one pass.

Yup! Sometimes there is water or mist or I just want it to make another pass and if you just tap it once it will cycle!

Not even necessary. If you flick the wiper stalk up, it makes a pass once across the windshield to remove whatever mist/water is on the windshield without continuously wiping.
