'11 navigation here.
What does everyone think of the navigation system? I've been running this car for a little over 3 months and not very impressed. First of all, the lock up while in D is really annoying and render the navigation system useless. I understand the safety part but at least let the passenger enter the address while driving. Have to use Enform Live.
Secondly, the point of interest search function is useless! Can not find many businesses! Trying to find a dentist office this morning and again have to use my phone. On many occasions, I have to call Enform Live or use my phone if I'm not driving.
And finally, can not find address that use highway street name. Example, if I want 114 rt113, the system can't find it. Again, have to use Enform Live and the person on the phone can punch in the address even though I tried the same road name.
It seem to me that the navigation system is heavily rely on Enform Live. Okay with me if the service is free, but it is not.
I agree with those things you said. Once it sent me in circles so i finnally google map on my iphone to find my way. These days i have navigon on my iphone and i use them both to cross check..im tired of going round and round in an infinite loop lol
yea i was not a fan of the navi system. it could have been much better imo. i use to have to double check it against my phone to be sure it was correct
I hate the navigation system on the lexus as well. I think with the 4th gen GS they did a much better job. Whenever I search for a shell gas station (only gas I buy- V-power) it tries to direct me to gas stations in New Jersey when I live in New York and there is a shell gas station in the next block.
Yeah, that's another problem too. It searches by region with 7-10 different states. Why can't I enter the city and state I want to search something for?! I gotta say, this is not even comparable to the Acura navigation system. We have a TL w/no nav but every time I get the loaner, the navigation was great on it and this was what made me decide to get navigation system on my next car at the time.
