Hi CL members,


Please help on this one, i have two cars , 2 gs400's 1998 models, 1 has 04 gs430 headlights that originally came with non xenon and the other has stock Oem xenon headlights. My question is if i can swap them out vice versa

Put the 04 headlights off the originally non equipped 98 into the 98 originally equipped oem xenon gs and vice versa without any modification , thanks in advance.

No you cant, so some searching on the subject, there are plenty of topics on that. Main thing is that the factory hid's have auto-leveling lights, the halogen models dont. Also, the halogen uses 9006 harness and the hid's have a ballast with its own harness so you'd have to buy an aftermarket hid kit with d2r harness for the hid bulb. The actual housing are identical (other than a few punched out holes/tabs for the added equipment) and will mount up just fine, its all a wiring issue.

I have the o5 gs430 headlights on my 98 without oem xenon that work perfectly fine direct bolt on, but will they fit on the gs400 oem equipped xenon?
