Need help with an Ethic Problem please.
Took my car in for winter tire change.
Went to pick it up and "my buddy" who owns the garage told me they had a problem while driving the car out of the bay. A rear strut had collapsed.
They replaced both rear struts and I collected the car.
When I got back to my place, I noticed that one of the front tires (Summer) had a noticeable groove around the perimeter. (I felt the other side and sure enough, both sides were affected.
I called my buddy and he tells me that the front struts were fine.
I checked the winter tires - No sign of any damage.
I now have a dilemma and I don't like where I'm going.
I need some help, please.

Any "ethic" problem that is just about money, or getting money back in a 1-time event is a bit shallow.
Unless you are living week-to-week, cut your losses and write it off. Worry about tougher problems that can't be solved with a relatively small amount of money in the grand scheme of things.

I'm not concerned about the money, I'm concerned about the fact my vehicle may now be unsafe. I often have my grandchildren with me and if the tire is unsafe,....?
'Nuff said, I think.

Not sure the answer your looking for but its hard to tell you anything with such a vague description and no pics. If your worried about your grandchildren safety as well as your own maybe you should buy some new tires. Doesn't seem your "buddy" is going to take any responsibility. Gl in whatever you choose.

Managed to get photo onto "Photo" page but still having trouble posting it to here. (I'm an old fart and not very computer "savvy") Will keep trying!
