Horn/alarm went off by itself last night
Hey guys as the title states. Oem alarm went off last night for about a minute and only shut off when I pressed unlock then lock. I know in theory somebody must of forcefully opened my door last night but I see no foot prints in the snow and nothing is missing, my question is can the alarm go off by itself? I heard about faulty actuators but all my dome lights work and the car chirps normally when I lock/ unlock. What u guys think? I was able to silence it by pressing unlock and lock
Thanks guys

Its quite possible that whatever sensor that tells the ecu that the door is open is going out (which most likely is the actuator, cause that doors actuator is done for. I havent been able to get a straight answer if the actuator is the sensor for that door or not for the last 6 years that I've been on CL LoL). I have the same problem. Happens rarely, but mines the opposite. My sensor is completely dead, only once in a while it resurrects and horn goes off. I press the button and it shuts off.

Have same problem. Horn goes off and only way to turn it off is to press the horn, which makes me believe it some kind of connection issue. Also my horn sounds in the cold when I make turns then stops as car warms up.
Any ideas of why this is happening? Need to stop these people from giving me crazy looks thinking I'm honking at them lol

Are your door lock actuators working good? Or are they "lazy" if after you lock your door the inside lock feels spongy and is not in the full lock position it may be right on the edge of the door open switch. The door open switch is inside the actuator. If this is the case you need to read and do the DIY door actuator motor replacement on the sticky

Steady bumping old threads on the same topic, why not stop by your local Lexus dealer and ask one of the monkeys? I always find it helps if you bring a dozen donuts ymmv
