Default New GS400 Owner* Door will not lock with key

Whats up everyone! Ive been a long time fan of Lexus, and ive finally come to own one. I have a '99 GS400 and I have a problem. Ive been searching but had no luck of finding what ive been searchig for. My passenger side door will not lock, it stays unlocked even when using the key. Will this be another actuator problem or is it mechanical such has the hooks and hinges? Any information is helpful, and I thank you before-hand.

Well I opened up the door and the cable that goes to the unlock/lock switch seems to be "stuck". It will not move freely. Will this be an actuator problem, such as the motor has died and is stuck in that position or will it be something mechanical, something unattached or just need lubing? Thanks.

if you search there's PLENTY of countless threads discussing the issue

its the door lock actuator , change the motor inside it if you don't want to spend 100-200 dollar on a whole new actuator

Did changing your actuator help?

I also have a simialr issue...actuallu two issues

1. Passenger side front door wont lock or unlock fr outside with the key. So if I manually try to unlock the door from the passenger side of the car, i will put key in and turn it nothing happens neither lock or unlock.

2. Passenger rear door stays in unlock position inside the car. It will not lock manually or with lock button on front drivers door or by manually locking car from outside..

Reason I dont mention locking w a remote from outside as my key could not be programmed due to rear rt passengers door staying unlocked.

I have seen when actuator goes bad door will neither lock or unlock thru remote or drivers door power lock button...but it will manually lock if u flip the switch. I search for threads with my two issues this is closest thing I found.

For your second problem, it is the actuator. I'm not too sure about the first one though. My driver door didn't unlock or lock but worked with the key hole. If it doesn't work with the key hole there is probably something else wrong with it
