Club Lexus Reviews: The 2014 Lexus GS450h
"After tooling around in the Lexus GS450h for a week, I've come to a conclusion: Hybrids, on the whole, don't suck. Slow hybrids? Those suck.
Lexus have been the lords of high MPG luxury for as long as that's been a thing, but they're also the leading champs when it comes to building fast hybrids. Porsche and Ferrari and the like are boasting loudly about their hybrid supercars now, but Lexus has been building the GS450h for years. This latest iteration is their most efficient yet.
The GS 450h is like the golidlocks of the Lexus range. On the one hand, you have the option of the IS 350 F Sport: a capable car with handling and acceleration that belies it's size. On the other, is the ES: a cushy alternative for the miles per gallon minded. Neither one really compromises in their pursuit of sport and comfort... I can't say the same thing about the GS450h. It is a car built around compromise.
Actually, that's probably the wrong word. The right one is cooperation."

Yep, it is pricey. But as the reviewer said, it may be worth it. I certainly love mine, which is my second GSh. Got the '13 after owning a '10. No complaints. Smooth, powerful, and luxurious. But it is definitely not an LS! And for some, that 8K leap up is a huge leap.

The GSh is a car you need to take on an extended test drive to appreciate. I was able to borrow one from the Lexus Westerm region over a long weekend in February, and it sold me. I bought my '14 GSh in Nebula Gray Pearl/Black in May. The hybrid system is impressive. The driving dynamics in S+ mode are engaging. The black interior with bamboo is beautiful. The car loses a few points due to the nav / telematics. Complicated and poorly integrated. Just not what you'd expect from a car that is otherwise so well engineered. I almost waited for a '15 to get the next generation system with the touch pad instead of the mouse, but I wanted the luxury package and it won't be offered on the GSh in '15.

Can't stand the wheels nor the bamboo interior. I would also "splurge" for the LS460 if those were my only two options.

Wonder if they will tweak the engine and hybrid system to release more hp/torque for the 2015 F-Sport.

Perhaps off topic: I'm looking at a "new" 2013 GS 450h. (An incredible and unique car for a number of reasons--by far my favorite GS.) With the 2015's just around the corner, shouldn't a 2013 be priced like a used car?

This is a great car and I love mine. Look on Autotrader, there are some for sale there including some with the lux package . They are asking MSRP in the ad but you should get a great price. Look to see the milage to see if it was a dealer demo. Check car fax to see if titled by dealer. I got mine for 11K off MSRP 6 months ago so you should be able to get a much better deal.
