Are you talking about the rear air button? It turns the a/c vents for the rear passengers off. The vents are on the backside of the driver armrest

p. 786 ITM

Has to be customized by the dealer. Unless someone knows the hokey pokey dance that has to be done to achieve that feature...

you can do it yourself if you have a bluetooth dongle and an android device with the carista app on it.

It's the S flow button. If you have a luxury it routes air to the passenger or rear only if those seats are occupied. If not a luxury it stops airflow to the rear.

For the F-Sport, it routes the air only to the driver unless a passenger is present, then it routes it to both.

My shade stays up all the time except when car is in reverse. There is a button on the center console that you push.

I'd like for someone to confirm this comment.
I have a 2014 luxury and if I have S-flow on it turns off the rear air and then it makes it so that the passenger air will turn on only if someone sits in it.
It does not matter if I sit in the back seat to test it.
The back seat stays off no matter what if I have the s-flow button on.

How does someone else's luxury s-flow work?

That's a change the dealership must make... or you can buy one of those carista programmers to do it yourself. By default it goes down when you put it in R. The dealer can change it to where it doesn't do that
