My 2014 GS came with it and works ok but range does suck. I can start the car from inside my house without a problem. I have to park it at work facing my office and can't be more than about 200' away. My office is on the 2nd floor and I have a clean shot to parking lot so that probably helps distance a little.

Need to get a remote start for my wife's 2013 ES350 so will look at aftermarket probably for that.

Default Remote Start

I installed a Viper a couple of weeks ago and I use my Factory Fob to remote start. I also use the smart start app as well. The only gripe is the car shutting off when you open the door. I know there is a workaround because they did it for my Infiniti M56S.

How secure is this feature. You are connected through a GSM module and this means hacker eye pops. Someone might just kill you while you are driving just because you are driving a Lexus. Bruce Willis might not be there to save the day?

Yes, its Toyota, even factory Lexus remote start does that... No way around it. Only difference is, Dball is a cheaper route

I'm sorry to say, there is no work around it. You can bypass the door module but when you apply the brakes the cars shut off. I have tried that by taping the door sensor on the body and when I applied the brakes, car shuts off... Toyota is too smart in not wanting to risk and law suits or liability of that.

Don't know why they don't have remote start for IS when all the other ones have them...

After a month or so of arguing with multiple installers that STILL keep telling me it's impossible. Even the xpresskit people tell me it's impossible but on their install guide it tells me it is possible. I have a 04 UL. The only person that has shared their secret has told me that his install guy just did it and he has no knowledge on how. ANYONE that has done this with the OEM smart key fob, on a 04+ UL PLEASE HELP
