Temperlite side glass bothers me
I heard low-frequency noise in the highway.
is it because GS using temperlite side window glass?
according to my preliminary survey
GS 3rd generation and 4th, both using temperlite
ES300H using lamisafe while the previous generation of ES350 using temperlite
RX450H using lamisafe
and i found no thread discussing about GS noise issue while driving at higher speed.

Basically, automotive glass can be classified into two main types -laminated glass and tempered glass and AGC Automotive has developed twocorresponding brands - namely LAMISAFE and TEMPERLITE.
Temperlite is a "SINGLE" layer glass
this is what I understand.
If you check the corner of your GS side window, the mark says it's temperlite
which mean single pane
RIGHT?

Lead Lap
Replace the windows with dual pane. However, that will be expensive.
Glass is one of the worst items that can be used for insulation. Noise, heat, light, etc.... However, the visible limitations with other types of insulation are greatly reduced when replaced with glass.
Catch 22.

If you can find the other theads on this topic, I seem to recall that someone claimed their dealer replaced their glass with double-pane, because of their complaints about noise. There may have been other considerations involved, that I don't recall.

Well the GS has two types of glass single pane and double pane, I have double pane which you can clearly see when you roll the glass down as there are two glasses sandwiched between each other.

Here is the Canadian (cold weather) specs from the Lexus Canada site "Made for Canada" tab:
Lexus carefully selects certain standard features and/or options that are best suited for Canada’s climate and driving conditions, including:
All leather seats are heated
Lexus Genuine All Weather Floor Mats
Heavy duty battery and alternator
Cold weather unique engine intake
Heated mirrors
Cold region engine coolant used
Bilingual navigation
Wide availability of AWD models
I have Temperlite side windows, there appears to be no option for Lamisafe in Canada. I guess Canadians prefer a noisier cabin.
