Text Message not displaying/speaking when received?
Hello,
IM not sure why and I cant seem to figure it out but whenever my phone is connected and when i receive a text message, it doesnt display nor does it speak out my text message. I can make/receive calls find but nothing in regards to text messages. Ive resetted the car system, removed/added the phone and cant think of anything else. Anyone have had this issue? Im running a Samsung Note 4 (Android).

Your dealer should have a technology specialist you can work with to resolve this. I do know that on Marshmallow (android 6), permissions changed for everything. There are lots of new layers of security and therefore, more prompts you may have missed.
When I upgraded to my latest phone running Marshmallow, I whacked OK on the first one or two things that came up and thought I was done, but only half the feature set was available to the car. I deleted the device in the car menus and re-added the phone, and paid close attention the second time. Sure enough, there was an extra permission screen I had missed the first time, and it was related to SMS options.

You may need to change phone settings. Under settings, voice input & output, text to speech settings, driving mode, driving mode settings.. I was playing around with this but if you leave this set up as I did, my phone would read out texts while not in the car. I switched it off as I can't be bothered switching back and forth. I guess it would be good for a long haul. Around town I don't need to be "connected" to this extent.
